One should not ever judge a book by its cover for the story it contains might not be what you expect. My name is Danxia /dœnʃa:/ Yang and I hope to tell those stories.
I am a Chinese-Norwegian-Australian actress for film, TV, and stage. Born in rural China, later I migrated to Norway where I spent all of my childhood and adolescence. As a result, I am fluent in Norwegian, Swedish, Chinese, and English. I have had a love of the latter from a young age, and that love eventually brought me to Australia in 2006.
I have always known - from a young age - that I wanted to be an actress, but never thought there would be much opportunity, until a few years ago. Since starting acting, I have been fortunate enough as to work on productions such as Harrow, Into Black, and the upcoming feature film Two Heads Creek.
I hold a Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Queensland, a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Cambridge, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, as well as attaining professional training from the College of Theatre Practice and NIDA. I am also a proud member of the Media Entertainment Arts Alliance (MEAA).
If you have a project you would like to consider me for, feel free to get in contact with my agent. I am available for all projects in Australia, and internationally.
You can also send me message.
I look forward to hearing your story.
